An Oz of Prevention...
If you're a Prius early-adopter and have your 2001 to 2003 model, pay attention: Toyota does a voluntary security recall on 52,000 first generation Prius hybrid cars in america to "replace the electrical energy steering pinion shaft attachment nuts [...] When the controls is frequently and strongly switched fully-lock position, there's possible the nuts acquiring the pinion shaft within the steering gear box set up can become loose. When the vehicle is continuously operated within this condition, with time, the client will progressively notice significant elevated steering effort when creating a left turn." Via Toyota.
