The Nike Air Mag, a shoe I dreamed of putting on like a kid and may only imagine purchasing today, are now being sold off for the quest for relief from Parkinson's Disease. They are selling for $6,142 some.
Based on Darren Rovell of CNBC, the very first 150 pairs have averaged $6,142 per pair for any total of $921,290. That's beyond costly, that is unfortunate for sneakerheads, but ideal for humanity because all of the proceeds are likely to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, will even match the donations as much as $50 million.
Checking at current entries now though, it appears such as the cost from the Air Mag might have dipped a bit to $4,000 some. That's still more income than I possibly could ever afford for a set of footwear (though that does not mean I did not consider putting in a bid on the pair for any good two hrs), I expect the cost to dip a bit more after which spike up once the auction is within its stretch run. Whether it ever reaches below a $1000 though... [Nikemag.eBay.com via @DarrenRovell]
