The United kingdom Royal Observatory Greenwich has selected its annual Best Astrophotographer of the season. The recipient for 2011 is Damian Peach, with this stunning shot in our photo voltaic system s biggest planet:
Wow! [Click to enjoviante.] The detail within the clouds is amazing, also it always shocks me that has about the moons is visible came from here on the planet (that s Ganymede towards the upper right and Io towards the lower left).
Now, that s an attractive picture, and my champion to Damian for this. But I must admit, I m a fan of deep-sky shots, therefore i was glad to determine Rogelio Bernal Andreo s incredible "Orion from Mind to Foot" result in the list too in the end, I selected it as being my Top Astronomy Picture of 2010!
How flippin awesome is that Click it to obtain a very massively embiggened version, that is really worth your time and effort getting. This is simply amazing. My personal favorite bit may be the (ironically) ghostly-blue Witch Mind Nebula in the upper right. Why do known as that Heh: consider the bigger version to determine. You ll decipher it out.
You need to look whatsoever the winning records in the ROG site. And when you believe that you can do better, then prepare for the coming year s contest! And when you will be in Greenwich, you need to visit the observatory they've the those who win displayed until Feb 2012.
