People have to accomplish dull tasks, but people who feel titled might be more inclined to see them as a total waste of their precious time, inducing the perception that point drags. This hypothesis was confirmed in three studies. In Study 1, participants with greater trait entitlement (controlling for related variables) thought dull tasks required longer to accomplish no link was discovered just for fun tasks. In Study 2, participants uncovered to titled messages thought going for a dull survey would be a greater total waste of time and required longer to accomplish. In Study 3, participants subliminally uncovered to titled words thought dull tasks were less interesting, thought they required longer to accomplish, and walked away faster when departing the laboratory. Like the majority of assets, time is really a resource valued more by titled people. A period-entitlement link provides novel understanding of systems underlying self-focus and prosocial dynamics.
