You might not have recognized it, but 2011 may be the Worldwide Year from the Forest. We have talked about the threat of deforestation plenty on TreeHugger, but rarely will we find our points so well-crafted, and supported by this type of beautiful background, as with this film from Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Edward Norton narrates Of Forests and Males, the state film for that Worldwide Year of Forests that can make you need to get leave the pc and go save a tree yourself.

Arthus-Bertrand, in france they digital photographer and filmmaker who made Home, a movie of aerial photography, and Norton who loves our prime Line and hates shark finning, create a dynamic duo. The film, about seven minutes lengthy, displays details and statistics which come lower for this: We and several other species rely on forests for survival. Yet we're wrecking them at unparalleled and not sustainable levels. Nevertheless, there's hope.
