The new sony 500mm f/4 G SSM lens hands-on (video)

You do not see many contacts appear 'round these parts, but Sony's new 500mm f/4 G SSM optic is impressive enough to warrant some hands-on attention. We spotted the brand new A-mount telephoto installed on an Alpha A77 at Sony's booth at Clubpenguin+ 2012, and queued up for an opportunity to take a few shots. The lens focused remarkably rapidly, especially given its massive 500mm fixed focal length. Moving from susceptible to subject at different distances, i was typically in a position to achieve concentrate a part of a second. Lengthy contacts have typically been tricky around the focus front, but this person handled it just like a champion, with speeds that made an appearance to rival far shorter primes. The SAL500F40G, as it is to become known, is going to be hands created to order starting in March, having a yet-to-be-confirmed (likely sky-high) cost. Click beyond the break to determine precisely how rapidly we are able to focus on some wild Clubpenguin+ show floor action.
