Apple declines US accusation of collusion on e-books

WASHINGTON (AP) Apple Corporation. states the accusation it conspired with major book marketers to boost the cost of e-books is false.

Apple spokesperson Tom Neumayr (NEW-myer) states that, unlike accusations in legal cases through the Justice Department and 15 states, Apple fostered innovation and competition by presenting its iBookstore this year. He states clients have achieved positive results from e-books which are more interactive and interesting.

The organization states its entry into e-books has damaged a monopolistic grip around the posting industry by Internet store Amazon . com.com.

The legal cases say Apple and also the marketers cost customers a lot more than $100 million previously 2 yrs with the addition of $2 or $3, sometimes around $5, towards the cost of every e-book.
