I, for just one, welcome our new robot overlords. Yes, individuals prodigies at Boston Dynamics have recently tried it: produced something even creepier than their last robot, BigDog. The Security Ensemble Test Mannequin (a.k.a. PETMAN) is finally confirming for duty following a 13-month design phase and 17-month build phase.
The guy-sized robot moves like a person, moving its arms as well as balancing itself when pressed. PETMAN's function would be to test clothing which will hopefully safeguard U.S. Military soldiers from chemical agents later on.

Still, it's difficult to check out a persons gait of the anthropomorphic robot and never imagine armies of Terminator-style robots marching over an apocalyptic hellscape. The truth that we have an ominous red-colored light instead of a mind does not allow it to be look any user friendly.
The one thing even sweats PETMAN is designed to simulate human temps and humidity when trying out protective clothing. It is also able to carrying out squats, push-ups along with other simple exercises, meaning science has finally introduced us the various tools for realistic robot training montages for action movies.
Other robots within the company's stable of machines: these BigDog (made to carry heavy loads for soldiers), the wall-climbing RiSE and also the shape-shifting SquishBot. Skynet ... oops, I am talking about Boston Dynamics, was initially founded like a spin-from Durch in 1992.
