NASA has apparently selected Boeing and SpaceX because the two companies to get primary funding for that "Commercial Crew Program." This news was apparently leaked to NBC News' Jay Barbree, but everyone concerned have declined to comment until NASA helps make the official announcement later today. While Boeing and SpaceX will probably collect the majority of $1 billion in funding, Sierra Nevada continues to be selected because the "standby" candidate -- having a mandate to part of if either primary partner fails. If true, it implies that Shaun Bezos' Blue Origin continues to be withdrawn from the race entirely -- although disappointment is simpler to consider if you are a billionaire... we have heard.
