Google concurs to record $22.5M fine on privacy

Bay Area (AP) Google is having to pay an archive $22.5 million fine to stay accusations it broke a privacy promise by privately monitoring countless Web viewers who use Apple's Safari browser.

The penalty introduced Thursday through the Ftc matches the figure the Connected Press along with other media shops had reported recently. It is the biggest fine the Federal trade commission has enforced against a business for breaking an earlier agreement using the agency.
