Judge declines Apple's bid for Samsung sanctions

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) A federal judge on Friday refused Apple Corporation.'s demands to have an immediate victory inside a multibillion-dollar patent trial. Apple searched for the lengthy-shot bid as punishment for Samsung Electronics Corporation.'s decision to problem a questionable pr release on the very first day of testimony.

The San Jose Mercury News reported Friday (http://bit.ly/T6ztfV ) that U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh refused Apple's request after polling the nine jurors to find out when they read media accounts in line with the news release. All stated they have followed the judge's admonition to avoid reading through concerning the situation.

Samsung attorney John Quinn approved the discharge Tuesday, which were not impressed with Koh's exclusion of evidence favorable to Samsung. The discharge also incorporated evidence.

Koh stated she reserves the authority to investigate matter further if new evidence involves light.
