New construction at Apple's New York data center poses for aerial photographs

New construction at Apple's North Carolina data center poses for aerial photographs

Photos thanks to Wired demonstrate that Apple's new "tactical" data center at its Maiden, New York facility is well coming to completion. Taken with the aid of a decidedly low-tech plane -- a 1949 Piper PA-11 Cub Special, if you must understand -- the shots feature what seem to be the facade from the $1.9 million, 21,000 square-feet structure which was outed recently. The pictures also show glimpses of the second 20-megawatt solar array and what might be the fundamentals from the complex's planned 4.8-megawatt biofuel cell plant, that will convert biogas into electricity. With Apple's approaching Reno project obtaining the rubber stamp of approval, it does not appear like the organization will exhaust construction projects in the near future.
