Nikkei: ITU near suggesting NHK's Super Hi-Vision as official TV standard

NHK Super Hi-Vision at Olympics

We have seen NHK planning its Super Hi-Vision 8K video since since the beginning. It would be great when the TV broadcast technology was not only a perpetual research study If sources for Japan's Nikkei aren't fantasizing, the Worldwide Telecommunication Union has become "likely" to declare the format the official standard for tv stations and television makers. Should it proceed, the Not telecom body would request the planet to depend on Super Hi-Vision being an eventual successor to High definition tv and lower the balkanization of TV standards that we have seen previously. Neither the ITU nor NHK has said around the claim to date, but NHK is not exactly inside a hurry to obtain a press from anybody -- widescale test broadcasts aren't coming until 2020, and production Televisions are only entering a 4K world.
