Couple of days after Samsung introduced the supply from the Universe Note 10.1 (and it is source code), it seems to curently have been rooted. An XDA user named Zedomax states have drawn from the task by inserting root in to the stock European firmware, then setting up the superuser'd version in conventional ODIN fashion. Using the usual bricking caveats, that'll allow you to start setting up unsanctioned applications towards the pen-enabled animal, while apparently still getting OTA updates in the mother company. We'd like to verify it ourselves with this own GT-N8000, but we do not get one yet -- nor does hardly other people, so you might want to wait to many other brave soul to verify it prior to going ahead.
