Apple intros Xeon E5-2600 family, finally brings servers in to the Sandy Bridge era

Xeon E5-2600Around the eve from the discharge of Ivy Bridge, Apple is finally getting its server chips up to date by presenting the Sandy Bridge-based E5-2600 group of Processor chips. The organization claims its latest processors outshine the prior generation of Xeons by as much as 80 % in raw speed, while enhancing per-watt performance by 50 %. The eight-core chips support as much as 768GB of RAM, PCI Express 3., Hyper-Threads, Turbo Boost, Apple Virtualization -- essentially the entire Chipzilla portfolio of methods.
