
The 7-inch, 800 x 480-pixel touch screen is resistive -- which can be a little of the dirty word nowadays -- but thinking about the intended audience, it's most likely an excellent choice. Our prods and pokes were met responsively enough, and Frozen Treats Sandwich appeared to operate all right around the modest 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with 1GB of RAM. Archos claims you will get eight hrs of video playback, or 16 hrs of music per battery charge, and that we assume that's using the 802.11b/g wireless switched off. The plastic finish really looks very good, and can wipe free from jam and chips simple. Also, the rear includes a rubberized feel that ought to help prevent it from sliding from individuals juvenile feet. It's penciled set for release in April, and also the real kicker this is actually the cost. The &euro99 (about $129) cost might less than be pocket-change, but it is really close.
