Audi A3 with MMI Touch gesture-based entertainment system hands-on (video)

CeBIT is not a car show within the traditional sense, but we're in Germany in the end, therefore we were not terribly surprised to determine Audi roll-up having a completely new vehicle. The most recent A3 made its worldwide debut today, getting by using it that wheel-based menu navigation interface we had in the prototype phase. The touch pad sits atop the jog-wheel and reduces things lower substantially in comparison towards the original version based in the 7-series. To help keep things nice safe, Audi devised a method that recognizes letters you draw together with your finger, enabling motorists keep their eyes on the highway while choosing music, making calls or setting a destination within the Gps navigation. Also, out of the box apparently standard nowadays, there's Twitter and facebook integration -- the vehicle may even read updates while you drive. Knowing, you cannot hold back until you are parked.

As you may have collected, the A3 is really a connected vehicle, having a SIM slot or Bluetooth connection supplying the car's connect to the outdoors world. It provides another curious addition, too: a "Phone Box" signal improving system. Particulars are sparse, but we all do know there's an exterior antenna that relays the signal to the phone. That specific feature works with any contact you choose to toss inside, as well as a wired connection just for charging (this area is increased, so something that sits inside the enclosure will reap individuals improving benefits). We handled to obtain the first hands-on demo using the vehicle, and you will see all individuals new toys within the video and art galleries below.
