It's less than ready for common use at this time, however it appears like we're able to soon have yet a different way to virtualize one computer desktop on another device. Tentatively named WSX, VMware's latest option depends on HTML5 to eliminate plug-inches or devoted programs altogether (a "lightweight ServerInch functions being an intermediary), meaning you will need simply a internet browser to operate Home windows or any other os's on any capable device. By since includes laptops and desktop computers running Opera, Chrome, and Safari, in addition to iPads, although not Android products (though that's apparently within the works). In addition, while will still be referred to as experimental, it apparently offers "near-native quality and framerates" when viewing 720p YouTube videos, and VMware has already been toying around with optimizing it for that new iPad's Retina display. Individuals thinking about a sneak peak can give it a try with VMware's Workstation Tech Preview for Linux, although there is no word yet on the wider release.

Actually, there is already a solution like this on the market, and has been since early 2011. Ericom AccessNow is an HTML5 RDP client that enables users to connect to VDI virtual desktops, Terminal Server and even physical PCs and run their virtual desktops or individual Windows applications in a browser.
ReplyDeleteAccessNow does not require any installation or underlying technology on the end user device. An HTML5 compatible browser is all that is required, so AccessNow works on regular PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads and Android devices.
