We are seeing rear cameras on mobile phones and pills improve constantly how about in front OmniVision may have that side handled with the OV2722, a 1080p-native CMOS camera sensor. It will not permit magnum opuses of photography such as the company's own 16-megapixel behemoth, but it is just large enough and thin enough (at 3mm deep) to provide a significant upgrade towards the 720p-or-lower front cameras that prevail today, including webcams on Ultrabooks. The brand new sensor is both thinner and in low light than an early on iteration, so we'll hopefully see less cases of blurrycam self-portraits and video calls. The OV2722 is within mass production let's focus on un named clients, although we are worried the resolution jump can have us just a little too much detail for the reason that talk to Aunt Mildred.
