Toshiba had its new selection of Regza HDTVs available at CEATEC today, showing patio furniture from both J7 Series and Z7 series. The J7 Series offers 32-, 40, 50- and 65-inch options, which boast 1080p resolutions save for that 32-incher. Prices begins at ¥75,000 (about $961) and tops off at ¥370,000 for that biggest model. The slightly greater-finish Z7 Series includes 42-, 47- and 55-inch models, with prices varying from ¥180,000 to ¥370,000. The Z7 Series also motorboats Toshiba's "time-change machine" feature, which instantly records as much as 40 hrs of content on primary channels and indicates programs according to your viewing habits.
We spent a couple of minutes looking in to the high-def abyss in the company's rather dim booth, and every one of the shows looked quite stunning. Regrettably, we were not able to try out time-change feature, so we'll need to take the organization on its word there. The premium Z7 models incorporate a thinner bezel as well as an overall sleeker look, as the J7 featured a far more rounded design, having a beefier border round the panel. All the Televisions are required to debut prior to the holidays. For the time being, you can aquire a sneak look from your hands-on video below.

Thanks for the news! Those Z7s look pretty good, but do I need another DVR? I have a Hopper, and I have it enabled to record the major networks nightly lineup with Primetime Anytime. Working the late shift at DISH used to mean that I had to miss my favorite shows, but that’s no longer a problem. In the end, I don’t know if I can justify the added cost of the built in DVR when I already have central DVR to feed all of my TVs.
