It has not been a great week for Company IQ. First a damning video apparently illustrating the extent of the items information this program collects surfaces, then everything would go to shit. Now, the organization is facing a Senate analysis for potentially countless violations of privacy laws and regulations. And this is actually the response
The organization launched its official statement around the matter late Thursday mid-day. You'll find the entire text from it here.
There is not anything particularly surprising within the statement itself. The organization flatly declines any dishonest and illegal actions without really supplying any explanation of the items the program does,
While a couple of people have recognized that there's a lot of information open to the Company IQ software within the phone, our software doesn't record, store or transmit the items in SMS messages, email, photographs, audio or video. For instance, we understand whether an SMS was sent precisely, but don't record or transmit this content from the SMS. We all know which programs are draining your battery, but don't capture the screen.
Basically CIQ argues that although key strokes, messages, telephone numbers, and websites did go through the program, they weren't recorded. Quite the contrary, actually. CIQ offers itself being an advocate from the consumer, "explaining the things that work and what doesn't work...Our software enables Operators to determine why troubles are occurring, why calls are dropped, and just how to increase the existence from the battery." I am not quite sure how peering into my SMS messages helps extend my battery existence but let us just move.
CIQ also introduced in Rebecca Bace a respected security expert from Infidel Corporation., because of its PR defense. She too claims that, "getting examined the Company IQ implementation i believe that accusations of key stroke collection or any other surveillance of mobile device user's content are erroneous." Overall, the business's statement does not really add any light or explanation towards the debate, we might have to hold back until Senator Franken will get your hands on them for solutions.
