Prototype Asterisk Robot From Japan Has Mad Moves (Video)

Gotta hands it to Japanese engineers. Sluggish economy or otherwise, they still make the hrs to build up new kinds of robots. Seen here's Asterisk, which named after its shape, a six-limbed �insectoid prototype that s being tweaked in the Arai Robotics Lab. Japan needs its robots though. Being an industrialized country vulnerable to inadvertent calamities and mired by a�graying�population, the help of intelligent machines is a practicable option to a ton of migratory employees. Asterisk Robot

In the current form, Asterisk packs�incredible�mobility, an accelerometer, and embedded gyro sensors to assist it overcome its surroundings. It isn t area ready yet, however. If later variants ever get into production, the Asterisk robot will probably be used in disaster areas and emergency situations.
