Reminiscences of the 'Star Wars' Christmas

It's not hard to obtain a little jaded concerning the holidays.

If you are much like me, you cannot help but cringe whenever you hear that first strain of Christmas music wafting from the loudspeakers at the local pharmacy at the begining of November. ("Let's begin again," you believe.)

When Christmas Eve comes around, you've fought crowds to seize your gifts and been bludgeoned using the latest Christmas cover tunes and advertising tie-inches. At this time, it's tempting to create everything off as only a clear tradition or perhaps a moneymaking gimmick.

If you are lucky, though, you in some way have the ability to stumble on the Christmas story that hands the holiday anew and helps make the "spirit of giving" and "peace on the planet" a lot more than mere platitudes.

Here is a simply created video from Darren Hayes, 1 / 2 of the duo that composed the late 1990's band Savage Garden (along with a solo artist in the own right).

It can be the unabashed and unpretentious presentation. It can be because I recall "The Exorcist" collectible figurines and toy catalogs very well. I myself would be a child in 1977 once the film first arrived on the scene. Maybe, too, it's related to the truth that I lost my mother not too very sometime ago which Hayes' film jogs my memory of her sweetness and sacrifices.

Anything, I had been moved and unhumbugged by Hayes' modest offering. I figured a number of you may be too. Sure, I possibly could view this up to now another bit of Christmas-designed marketing, however i not Scrooge around with this mindset.

Inside a statement to fans on his Site, Hayes states the film "originates from one's heart.Inch It feels this way in my experience.

Here's his simple little tale. It is a sweet one. Enjoy.
