Audi combines HUD with gesture controls, leaves us wanting

Audi has returned at CES for that second year consecutively, including a retina-searing, biggie-sized booth, its next-gen Audi Command interface along with a prototype heads-up display that mixes three shows with gesture controls.

The setup uses one HUD while watching driver, another while watching passenger but another display in the centre that's viewable by both people right in front seats. While that isn't particularly revolutionary, the change in information in one display to another is. When the passenger looks up a cafe or restaurant utilizing their own display, she will swipe it to the middle HUD, supplying the motive force with navigation instructions. The display tech continues to be a couple of years from production, try not to expect the gesture controls in the future along for that ride.
