Femtocells are small network products that augment bigger-scale cell phone base stations, something that's very handy in areas with poor network coverage. The BroadOne LTE will also support Wi-Fi networking just like a conventional wireless router.
Fujitsu is not selling the unit straight to customers, and can offer it to service providers who might want to achieve this. The unit is going to be obtainable in the 2nd quarter.
"When setting up the LTE Femtocell, there's no requirement for mobile service providers to regulate the configurations within their outside macrocell base stations since the LTE Femtocell itself includes technology that reduces interference," Fujitsu stated inside a statement. "Additionally, as BroadOne LTE Femtocell enables for seamless switching between LTE and Wi-Fi, it will help deliver an enhanced consumer experience and adds to reducing installation and operational costs of mobile communications companies."
Fujitsu is showing the femtocell in the CES in a few days in Vegas as well as in Feb in the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona.
The organization has not had much success through the years attempting to expand its pc and server lines outdoors its home country of Japan, but hopes to fare best using the femtocell. "Using the LTE Femtocell among its wireless broadband solutions, Fujitsu is trying to develop its business in global marketplaces," the organization stated.
Fujitsu hopes to market a million from the femtocells through the finish of their 2015 fiscal year.
