Two K-words we are more often than not very happy to hear: Korg and Kaoss. Good, then, the former has made the decision to create a lot of latter -- the small Kaoss Pad 2 (effects unit), and Kaossilator 2 (synthesizer), more specifically. Both new models will slip in your wallet, and therefore are centered with that all-important X-Y pad. The small Kaoss Pad 2 is about effects, packing 100 programs, three memory slots, and MP3 playback (with pitch adjust). The standard flanger, filter, delay, and reverb ear chocolate will also be became a member of by looper, vinyl break, and ducking compressor.
But what good are effects without almost anything to, er, affect Enter Kaossilator 2. It is a palm-sized synthesizer, with 150 onboard sounds along with a PCM engine for drums. You are able to sample using a built-in mic, gate and arpeggiate sounds, and make layered textures with loops. Both can record your speed and agility, save it to SD, or
impose tell others using a built-in speaker. It's all regulated tranquility, though, until April once the Kaossilator lands for around £168 ($260). The KPad, however will not hit the industry until May, selling in the same cost. Full PRs following the break.
