If you have been following our Home windows Phone 8 coverage today, you will know anyone who buys a Home windows Phone today won't have the ability to upgrade to WP8 if this ships this fall. Should you be an earlier adopter that isn't this type of bad deal, but when you purchased a Lumia 900 oh, say, three days ago you may be upset -- and appropriately so. And rightfully angry is Luke, who sent us an e-mail he fired off and away to Nokia's Stephen Elop and also at&T's Rob p la Vega by which he asks why he should not, at this time, change and return his phone.
I simply viewed the Home windows Phone 8 announcement and found that the Lumia won't be upgradeable to WP8, it'll pretty much obtain a skin using the new live tiles along with a couple of additional features... in the finish during the day unless of course certainly one of you responds and convinces me to remain with Microsoft Home windows Phone, Nokia Lumia or Att wireless I'll just clean my hands of three companies and move to Verizon.
Surprise surprise, Elop responded very quickly, stating:
There exists a large amount of exciting abilities coming included in a pattern of updates for that existing Lumia items. Including probably the most significant visual aspects of WP8 - for instance, the brand new start screen. Once we will always be, Nokia is dedicated to delivering a long-term experience to the customers in our items.
Granted, Nokia is getting some nice updates to current Lumias, like some Scalado-augmented photo miracle, but Elop's reference to "significant visual elements" leaves us wanting. We are waiting to listen to what Luke's likely to do, but here is your opportunity to weigh in. What is your opinion he must do Full emails want the break.
