The new sony is moving 80 billion yen ($994 million) into its Nagasaki Technology Center, the house of its innovative stacked CMOS. Unlike traditional versions, the look sensor and circuit are mounted on the top of each other, instead of side-by-side across a supporting substrate. The tweak means it shaves valuable millimeters from the body while creating far clearer images and, on top of that, HDR Video. Using the investment (plus some Government subsidy) the organization aims to function out 60,000 wafers monthly through the finish of 2013. Considering that both Samsung and Apple both use Sony's imaging equipment within their flagships, we are able to hope the 13-megapixel models understand into generation x of mobile phone models.
