A recently-struck partnership between Seagate and controller maker DensBits is signalling a far more serious make an effort to offer SSDs to everyday customers. Together with serving the company folk, Seagate wants its new teammate's assistance on building "low-cost, high-performance" consumer SSDs. The majority of the drives for that plebeians uses reduced but denser 3-bits-per-cell memory made on the process under 20 nanometers, as the suits can get faster 2-bits-per-cell expensive for his or her servers.
