XRHex Lite robot grows a tail, always lands on its feet video

Undoubtedly the finest challenge for robots with legs is remaining upright once the going will get rough. A group in the College of Pennsylvania's Kod*lab includes a hunch that people have no need for extra inteligence to reach that goal -- just an additional appendage. The upgraded X-RHex Lite (XRL) has a tail which will swing within the right direction to help keep the robot upright whether it's trapped with a fall, similar to the cat. That's impressive for any nearly 18-pound robot (the prior Tailbot was .4 pounds), but we are confident no feline has six springy legs the XRL can crash down but still return up enjoy it ain't no factor, which provides it a fudge factor others do not have. We do not determine if the hexapod animal will result in a lot more than further experiments. If you will find less stuck rovers on future exploration missions, though, we'll know who by way of thanking.
