Modder Andy Rawson thinks he's found the key to turning mobile phones into super-cheap thermal imaging hardware. Inspired by his mission to locate leaks in the old home and the cost of professional gear, he go about building their own. A 64-zone temperature sensor connects to his apple iphone through the pier, protecting the information onto his camera display. He's likely to open-source the $150 hardware, as well as an Android variant from the hardware is presently within the works -- although particulars for are presently thin on the floor, you can observe his announcement video following the break.
