The Engadget Interview: Nokia's Kevin Shields on PureView, floating sensors and also the 'missile' that's the Lumia 920

Nokia's Kevin Shields talks PureView, floating sensors and the 'missile' that is the Lumia 920

A discussion with Nokia's Stephen Elop, once we had the 2009 week, is very an event. He's kind, friendly, charming and clearly very enthusiastic about everything Nokia -- but his PR deflector shields will always be full-forward. Request him a frightening question and you will be welcomed having a very gentle response that sounds as an answer but is really only a deftly shipped retooling of some standard PR-friendly message you've most likely already heard.

Meeting with Nokia SVP Kevin Shields is, as we have seen previously, a rather more... direct experience. Why did Nokia decide on a gloss finish around the 920 rather than the matte we loved around the 800 and 900 "Since it is awesome." How durable may be the 920 "It's just like a missile." How confident is he that wireless charging will require off "Many of us are in." Shields was kind enough to provide us a couple of minutes of his time after Nokia's event now to speak Lumia and also to explain precisely what "PureView" means since it has been put on another phone. Click right through to get educated.
