Apple particulars Medfield plans, announces a trio of phone-friendly Atoms

Age Medfield is here. At Mobile World Congress Apple required the systems off its smartphone platform, cast off the code title and gave us some particulars on three different Atom chips destined for mobile phone models. The Z2460 is presently shipping and can serve as one's heart from the reference platform that products from Lenovo, Orange, Lava and ZTE derive from. The processor can hit clock speeds of 2GHz and packs an Apple XMM 6260 HSPA+ radio. Generation x part, named the Z2580 will allegedly double performance and will get upgraded for an XMM 7160, which adds LTE to the cellular toolbox. In the future Chipzilla also intends to introduce a "value smartphone" processor, named the Z2000. Which is only 1GHz and using a 6265 HSPA+ radio, the aim would be to energy Android phones that may be offered for under $150 -- unsubsidized. Sounds crazy, but it is true. To create this vision to fruition Apple has added Orange, ZTE, Lava and Visa to the listing of partners. Browse the PR following the break for additional particulars.
