Started Up: Not weaned from Windows

This recent announcement that Dell wouldn't be going after new mobile phones for the moment following a retirement of their Venue Home windows Phone products elevated the spotlight on PC companies -- a minimum of individuals apart from Apple -- and why they've battled so mightily in america smartphone market. Just about any major PC company, including Hewlett packard, Dell, Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba and ASUS, has either passed completely on entering the domestic market or launched only a number of models with little company support in it. Hewlett packard, obviously, made the biggest purchase of mobile when purchasing an unwell developer of products and os's. But before that Palm smacked its temple, Hewlett packard had only delicately flirted with mobile phones, delivering a couple of token Home windows Mobile mobile phones.

PC companies happen to be fighting the fight with a few heavy handicaps.

To become fair to those companies, an investment demands from the ultra-competitive smartphone market have proven formidable for a lot of companies, including many, like Motorola, Nokia and RIM, which were considered once masters of the overall game. Even firms that haven't seen this type of prolonged decline, like HTC, will find the tables switched on them throughout an economic quarter. But PC companies happen to be fighting the fight with a few heavy handicaps.
