French Supreme Court orders Google to censor piracy related terms

In France They Top Court has passed down a ruling that Google must censor terms for example "torrent," "RapidShare," along with other phrases that may be associated with illegal file discussing. Your decision was at reaction to a situation introduced by SNEP, a French music business group, asking for that Google have to censor its results and become attributed for assisting piracy. A legal court ruled the Mountain View company could not take place accountable for individuals decision to click right through to sites that contains illegal material. However it corrected a lesser court decision, demanding that related terms be taken off its autocomplete database to creating finding such content harder. Google was naturally disappointed through the ruling, especially since the organization already positively blocks some piracy related search phrases. But, that apparently wasn't enough for that SNEP.
