It had been a large week for superlatives in clean tech and eco-friendly architecture -- specifically in Europe. First, construction around the Shard, architect Renzo Piano's twinkling, 72-story skyscraper, ended working in london, which makes it the highest building in Europe. A night time celebration, including a laser light show supported through the London Philharmonic Orchestra occured. Nearly miles lower the stream, construction is continuing to move forward on Blackfriars Station, the earth's biggest photo voltaic bridge. The historic bridge has been fitted having a photo voltaic array which will produce 900,000 kWh of unpolluted electricity each year. As well as in Germany, photo voltaic producers have set a " new world " record, moving a fantastic 14.7 TWh of electricity in to the power grid throughout the very first six several weeks of 2012 -- 4.five percent from the country's total energy production throughout the period.
