Qantas to hand out free iPads to all passengers on Boeing 767s, save fuel and sanity in the process video

Qantas just upped the ante because of its Australian alternatives Jetstar and Virgin within the air travel tablet wars. Following an early on trial, the transporter intends to hands out free iPads to any or all of their people -- not only our prime-flyers running a business-class, as with Jetstar's iPads or Virgin's Universe Tabs -- on every Boeing 767 aircraft within the fleet. The rollout, which begins within the last quarter of the season, will let individuals bored within the back seats watch a similarly free 200 hours' price of QStreaming video and audio. Don't confuse the gesture having a sudden bout of altruism on Qantas' part, however. The pound-and-a-half weight of the current iPad sheds the considerable amount of weight that will normally be required for a regular in-flight entertainment system included in the seat, which on the typical 375-chair 767 often see the iPads purchase themselves within years, otherwise sooner. The choice can give many Aussies something to anticipate for his or her domestic summer time holidays.
