Google Senior Vice president of Mobile: Aliyun OS 'under no reason to be compatible', however it will not get the aid of Android ecosystem alliance

Google Senior VP of Mobile Aliyun OS 'under no requirement to be compatible', but it won't get help from Android ecosystem alliance

Andy Rubin has added another reaction to Alibaba's Aliyun OS, after Google's insistence that Acer place the launch of their new smartphone on pause. He focuses (again) around the Open Phone Alliance (OHA), which OEMs accept once they use the woking platform, promising to help keep Android a contented (and comparatively compatible) platform. Amazon . com dodges any similar difficulties with its Amazon Kindle Fire pills, since it did not join exactly the same alliance. Rubin states that because Aliyun uses Android's framework and tools -- in addition to housing some suspect Android applications (and unlicensed Google programs) within its very own Application Store -- the mobile OS "uses all of the effort that's gone into that platform through the OHA." Google's searching to safeguard how Android reacts in general, and also the senior Vice president indicates when Alibaba's new OS wanted "to take advantage of the Android ecosystem" they might make the move across to full compatibility. We are still waiting to listen to what Acer (and Alibaba) expect to do next.

[Thanks Jimmy]
