This test-firing might not match the flame of earlier demos, but SpaceX Boss Elon Musk tweeted out a short eight-second video of some other setup it's testing, the "Grasshopper" multiple-use vertical takeoff, vertical landing rocket. As the first hop would have been killed in almost any interstellar dunk contest, future tests will range tall from the couple of hundred ft to 2 miles. The aim would be to eventually produce a multiple-use first stage because of its Falcon 9 rocket, in a position to land securely rather than crashes in to the ocean and being broken beyond repair.
