Vic Gundotra states Nik's 'high-finish tools and plugins' can survive. Snapseed? Not.

Vic Gundotra says Nik's 'high-end tools and plugins' will survive

After Google effectively wiped out Sparrow's applications if this bought the organization (they are still available and supported, try not to expect much future development) there is some be worried about the way forward for Nik Software. Well, Vic Gundotra required to Google+ to salve a number of individuals fears.

The 2009 week I happily welcomed +Nik Software to Google. They have been making pictures more awesome for 17 years, and we are excited to create Nik's expertise towards the entire Google+ community!

I should also make something obvious: we are likely to continue offering and enhancing Nik's high-finish tools and plug-inches.

Professionals around the world use Nik to produce an ideal moment within their photographs (e.g., http://goo.gl/aDtkO), and that we care deeply regarding their artistry.

There's one annoying caveat for the reason that quote: "high-finish." Gundotra might be promising the next for Capture NX and Efex Professional, but it is obvious the popular Snapseed does not fit that description. Now, he's not specifically introduced the dying from the Instagram competitor, however it appears to us the writing is on your wall. The Android camera application may curently have some friendly filters, however it lacks the simplified discussing and marketing buzz of Facebook's recent acquisition. Expect when the Snapseed team simply will get folded into Google+ or Android while its creation gradually withers and dies.
