Hurricane Irene from beginning to end Bad Astronomy

NASA just launched an incredible video showing Hurricane Irene from August 21th with the 29th basically the whole lifespan from the storm:

Regrettably the resolution isn t great, but this really gives a feeling of the incredible size and momentum of the incredible storm. The animation was produced using images in the NASA/NOAA satellite GOES-13, an Earth-observer in geostationary orbit 36,000 km (22,000 miles) over the Atlantic Sea. It requires images of clouds, that have been coupled with MODIS images from the land to obtain this realistic-searching view.
