Which was fast. Best To Buy within the U.S. knocked the Rim PlayBook tablet lower to $299, apparently in reaction towards the market-upending cost from the Amazon's Kindle Fire.

Hitting each model on U.S. Best Buy's PlayBook page by Wednesday evening will disclose the 16GB PlayBook fell to $299 from $499, the 32GB dropped to $399 from $599, and also the 64GB model to $499 from $699.
Although this does not quite match the $99 fire purchase for Hewlett-Packard's Touch pad, $200 from the regular cost of the PlayBook is certainly not to sniff at.
Amazon . com introduced today the Kindle Fire will cost $199, despite getting much the same specifications towards the PlayBook.
