The iPad, released this year, began the publish-PC era. The mixture of the multitouch display and keyboard-less design enabled traveling with a laptop in ways dirty before. However, maybe the IBM Simon, released in 1992, began the publish-PC era. Broadly regarded as the very first smartphone, it enabled traveling with a laptop in ways which was dirty before. On the other hand, maybe the Osborne I, released almost 30 years ago, marked the start of the publish-PC era. In the end, it had been broadly regarded as the very first laptop, enabling traveling with a laptop in ways which was dirty before.
