Taser Worldwide has launched an update to the on-officer system, the AXON Flex. The brand new rig provides police force authorities with body-mounted cameras that capture video evidence "in the officer's perspective." These recording products could be attached towards the hat, collar, shoulder or on specifically designed Oakley shades and therefore are ruggedized to IPX2 standards. That's all fine and dandy, but what really gives this setup
nerd-cred is what you can do using the taken video. Via a partnership with
evidence.com, the Flex system can send footage to some "military grade" cloud-based storage system for safe keeping there's also an on-site storage option for this-savvy forces. As though that were not enough, Taser and Looxcie have co-created a smartphone application -- readily available for iOS or Android -- that will permit officials to examine taken clips and add Gps navigation coordinates, notes or timestamps. The system's goal would be to safeguard officials from "false claims, enhance public trust [and] decrease lawsuit." AXON Flex is anticpated to be launched in Q1 along with a base cost close to $700.
