First Team to try to Row towards the North Pole

Casting off at the end of This summer or early August the six member team intends to row the 450 miles from Resolute Bay towards the Magnetic North Pole (at 78�35.7N 104�11.9W / 78.595�N 104.1983�W) inside a specifically designed row boat.

The expedition website states that the purpose of the expedition would be to "highlight the already dramatic effect of global warming about the ice round the Polar Regions." Even though I do not doubt the expedition will reveal the quickly melting polar ice, The Independent's quote by Wishart feels more genuine.
