Imagine a floating three dimensional map on the car's dashboard that motorists can connect to by gesturing using their hands. It could seem just like a scene lifted from "Minority Report," but Pioneer is promoting a brand new Floating Vision display to provide an identical capacity.
The machine utilizes an LCD module to project sharp, three dimensional-like pictures via a special three dimensional lens. When coupled with infrared sensors, Floating Vision enables customers to the touch and manipulate objects instantly, as highlighted within the above online video in the Embedded Systems Expo in Tokyo, japan.
Some programs with this technology use in-vehicle navigation, and Pioneer is going to be offering this version to companies thinking about integrating Floating Vision shows within their items. Another variant, which connects using the PC via a USB link, has already been available.
