Google Forms Pharmacy Ad Probe for $500 Million

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Google states inside a statement that the organization should not have permitted Canadian pharmacies to market prescription medications to U.S. customers.

The Web search leader decided to pay $500 million to stay a federal analysis the distribution of online advertisements from pharmacies which were unlawfully selling prescription and non-prescription medications to American customers.

U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha in Rhode Island revealed the agreement on Wednesday. The settlement means Google won't face justice for accusations it incorrectly are making money from advertisements marketing "rogue" Canadian pharmacies that unlawfully imported drugs in to the U . s . States.

Rhode Island has strongly went after doping research recently.
