Skype has launched an up-to-date version of their Android application, and therefore video calling capacity has become on most Android mobile phone models.
We reported on Skype s new video calling functionality on Android last month, but it was restricted to just four mobile phone models: Google Nexus S Htc Desire Mobile Phone S The new sony Ericsson Xperia Neo and also the The new sony Ericsson Xperia Professional. With Skype 2.1, that changes.
One more 17 of the very popular Android products will support video-contacting Skype, including:
- Acer A5
- Htc Desire Mobile Phone (2.2)
- Htc Desire Mobile Phone HD
- HTC Evo three dimensional
- HTC Evo 4G
- HTC Flyer
- HTC Incredible S
- HTC Sensation
- HTC Thunderbolt Verizon (2.2) (US only)
- LG Revolution Verizon (2.2) (US only)
- Samsung Android Charge Verizon (2.2) (US only)
- Samsung Universe S
- Samsung Universe S II
- Samsung Universe Tab
- The new sony Ericsson Xperia small professional 2
- The new sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY
- The new sony Ericsson Xperia ray
Apparently, in case your Android device isn t in the above list, there s you don't need to stress at this time. Should you re using Android 2.2 (Froyo) or over, this is likely you are able to enable video calling through fine-tuning your Skype configurations. Go to Skype Configurations after starting the application and choose enable video calling .
If you're able to t begin to see the video calling configurations, it most likely means your phone doesn t satisfy the minimum needs to create Skype video calls.
