Arduino hack mimics Pixar's living light, disses IKEA along the way (video)

Oh, look -- it's Pixar's legendary light introduced to real-world Frankenlife. Okay, not necessarily, however the automated, voice-enabled mod is really as near to the movie studio's icon like a hacking package and five pounds inside a Swedish furniture store can enable you to get. The prototype, lovingly named "The annoying IKEA light" or SM-1, is ArduinoArts' finalist entry for SeeedStudio's Grove Toy Package contest. Headed by industrial engineer Javier Lander, the project weds two servos (one out of the bottom and something within the light), sensors for motion and seem, a 3 axis accelerometer, Brought light and audio board for an Arduino shield, popping the modjob to designed states of alarm and irritation. We commend Javier for eschewing the cutesy road well-traveled,and giving the mundane desktop light a irritated, old guy transformation. Click beyond the break to determine this curmudgeonly office accessory for action.

[Thanks, Javier]
