The patent war between Apple and Samsung is ongoing, and this time around the battleground is Japan: Japanese news agency Kyodo is confirming that Apple filed a suit against Samsung using the Tokyo, japan District Court. Based on large A, Samsung is infringing on (unspecified) patents about the apple iphone and iPad using the Universe S Android phone (that company Docomo began selling in Japan this past year).
When the report will be thought (neither Apple Japan nor Samsung Japan have confirmed this news), Apple is looking to get 100 million yen (US$1.3 million) in damages. An initial hearing happened yesterday, and apparently, Samsung s Japanese unit is prepared for any lengthy-term legal fight.
